Recognizing that Egyptian organizations and SME's need to enhance their leadership development efforts, the program aims at nurturing up-and-coming managers who will eventually drive their company's bottom line. It targets, those who currently assume or will assume the cross-functional responsibilities of company leadership, presenting to them an integrated view of the fundamentals of management.
EHRMA intends to hold this fair on a yearly basis, thus bringing HR professionals up-to-date information on available companies and their offerings; and to act as an advocating body to get the best service from health-care providers at fair and affordable premiums to its members.
We’ve all heard of Employment Fairs, Industrial Fairs and the like, but nobody had ever heard of Health-Care Fairs in Egypt. On May 25, 2004, EHRMA in collaboration with the HR Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt joined forces and initiated such a practice. The Health-Care Fair was a successful event that was well received by all parties involved.
On April 27, 2004, EHRMA members gathered to draw the road map for the year 2004. With this objective on mind, the participants were broken down into groups, each group discussing one of 4 main topics of high relevance to the HR operation, namely: Resourcing, Development, Compensation and Benefits and Organization Development
John Maxwell visited Egypt in April 2004. Dr. Maxwell is the former President of the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA), a body that represents some 60 national associations and more than 500,000 professional members worldwide; and the recipient of the ‘George Petitpas’ Memorial award for his “excellence in and on going contribution to the development of International Human Resources.”
Ms. Bardai started out by saying: "The Egyptian Human Resources Management Association (EHRMA) was born as an idea many years ago but only recently reached the point where the idea became reality. October 1st, 2000 the Association was licensed by the Ministry of Social Affairs." EHRMA is a non-profit non-governmental organization dedicated to the HR management profession in Egypt. Currently the association has 202 members involved in 9 different committees.
